Three Ways to Fill, One Smart Design: Why We Added a Hidden Water Inlet
At Mio, we believe great design is about real-world convenience—not just what looks good on paper. That's why our retractable oral irrigator offers users three different ways to fill the tank.
Most models on the market offer only one or two filling methods. We designed three—because we listened to how people actually use the product at home.
1. Fill Through the Nozzle Opening (Top Fill)
The most straightforward way: simply pour water directly into the nozzle opening at the top of the unit. Quick, simple, and familiar.
2. Remove the Tank and Fill (Traditional Fill)
For users who prefer a full, unobstructed view when filling, the tank can be detached and filled separately—just like most standard water flossers.
3. The Extra Thought: A Hidden Water Inlet at the Bottom
This is where our design differs.
You might wonder: Why add a third way? Isn't this unnecessary?
Here's the reality we discovered from user feedback:
-
Many homes have low kitchen or bathroom faucets. When the unit is fully extended (retracted mode), it becomes taller and may not fit under the tap—making top filling difficult.
-
Some users find it inconvenient to detach the tank every time they need to refill. They want a simpler option that doesn't require removing parts.
So we added a small water inlet at the bottom of the tank. It allows users to fill the unit without extending it and without removing the tank—even under a low faucet. Just open the cap, hold the unit under the tap, and fill.
A Small Detail That Makes a Big Difference
Most competing models don't offer this. We chose to include it because we believe a product should adapt to the user's environment—not the other way around.
Whether the faucet is high or low, whether you prefer quick filling or full visibility, our retractable oral irrigator gives you the flexibility to choose what works best for you.
Because thoughtful design isn't about adding features. It's about removing frustration.
